Go as far as you can see, and when you get there, you'll see farther.

This is super true when you go for an adventure race. When I get to one checkpoint, I see more. Just finished taking part in one adventure race, which although is not the longest but it is by far the most gruelling and tiring race. I really ran till I could run no more. Even Winston, cross country pro., couldn't either. I still remember the emcee saying before the flag of of the first wave, the one that my team -- winston, raj, zhi heng and me, was in, that this race is meant for beginners. Half way through, this thought came to my mind, "How ironic. This race, meant for beginners, is so tough. I bet they'll be crying cos even our team is on the verge of doing so." Practically during the whole race, we just followed the route markers that led us to unending distances of running, not knowing when we would ever end. We came in first for the first wave. There were 3 more waves of teams being dispatched after us. What was unfair was that the others had waiting time that would be deducted from their overall timing, in which why CJC managed to win, when we -- the first team, would have no waiting times. Since we are the first from our wave. Can you imagine chiong-ing 28km of mostly running, crazy off track cycling, kayaking along kelongs, crossing rivers, walking through tunnels and large drains without stopping even though you are the first team because you know that you are at an disadvantage as compared to the rest? I cant. I really cant comprehend how we managed to complete it but we did. Kudos to my team mates. This is really a push of our limits.

Tomorrow, I have another race -- Adventure Singapore with Yi Cong. Suddenly, I feel pressured to perform though my partner has made clear our aim: relax and enjoy. Somehow, I am getting this invisible push that tells me tomorrow's race would be worse than ever. I seriously think I am getting paranoid. This would be my last adventure race so that I can concentrate on studying. But like what the quote says, after going as far as completing a race, I see MORE. Unfortunately, I cant compete. SAD. So many races that I look forward to especially SAFRA's Adventura, Ace Adventure's From Dusk to Dawn and NUS RACE 5. Arrr....How I wish I am in jc1 now. Then again, I dont think so...

I guess anyone who happens to read my blog is very free. If you're j2, I suggest you would like to turn your attention to studying especially if you're from innova. MY prelim's is one week away. Gosh. Everyone is telling me to study hard. I know....

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do... Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
let others lead small lives, but not you
let others argue over small things, but not you
let others cry over small hurts, but not you
let ithers leave their future in someone else's hands, but not you
for you were meant for greater things than this
